Welcome to God's Garden
All the goats enjoying pine, July 2014
God’s Garden started on September 3, 2013 when the first
goat came home. At this moment I have 11 goats, my little garden patch of goats. Here
I grow goats for God’s glory and for the benefit of my family. Jesus is the perfect shepherd and I want to
model Jesus and be a good shepherdess.
I raise my goats as naturally as I can and as closely as I
believe God intended. The principles God
teaches in the Bible are applied to the farm.
The goatys are fed good quality hay and alfalfa; all organic grains; kelp; and simple minerals. The grain is rinsed before feeding. I take an herbal approach when
treating sick goats. The goats do not get any shots, GMOs, soy, or sugars.
I dam raise the kids because God did not intend for kids to be raised
without their mothers.
My whole herd was tested negative for CEA, CL, Johne's, and Brucella in May of 2015 and has been a closed herd since.
My goatys are extremely friendly and always love attention. I enjoy giving them attention: scratching their back and watching the goat’s
tail wag in pleasure; taking them on walks; listening to the sound of the milk
hitting the bucket as I lean into the
goat’s soft tummy; hearing their different voices call out to me; watching them eat and make little baas of
pleasure at the good food; watching them run, jump, and play. Goats are so enjoyable! I love my Lamanchas.
Lamancha milk is very yummy. People who didn’t like goat’s milk have tasted
my goatys milk and declared the milk non-goaty and extremely tasty. I have turned it into cheese: chevre, mozzarella, ricotta, cottage cheese,
and feta. Homemade cheese
is a huge learning experience but I really enjoy and appreciate the finally
outcome.
Thanks to God and my parents for allowing me to raise such awesome
creatures.
Come back and visit soon!
